Nirvana Day Ceremony
Sunday, February 16th at 4pm we will hold a special ceremony in observance of Shakyamuni Buddha's entrance into Nirvana. On this day marking the passing away of the Buddha, we strive to become those entrusted by the Buddha maintaining the vow of diligent practice of the bodhisattva way.
New Course on Kyoten Study
Starting Thursday, February 6th at 7pm, we will begin a new course on the Kyoten. Emmet will instruct this course and all members and visitors are encouraged to attend this special weekly study gathering. We will discuss the meanings and significance of the teachings found in the Kyoten sutra readings. A textbook will be used for the course and can be purchased at the Buddhist Center for $7. We look forward to having you join us for this great opportunity to learn more about the Kyoten and the Lotus Sutra!
Rev. Nick's Farewell Service & Potluck
Sunday February 23rd at 4pm we will be observing Rev. Nick Ozuna's Farewell Service. Having established the Buddhist Center of Tampa Bay in 2010, Rev. Nick is being reassigned to Los Angeles from next month. Before his move, Rev. Nick will offer a final Dharma Talk. A potluck dinner will be held after the service, so please bring a small dish with you. We hope all members will attend this special gathering.
